My personal practice with pottery is that of continuing the thought process commenced in my body of work with journals and stationery. As with VGB, my interrogations with clay are my exploring the formation of communion cups whose vessels recall the Black woman’s form while also— as with my handmade journals— carrying words of affirmation and confirmation.
