Blacklands: We Spread the Message!

$22.00

A letter set honoring Blackom, NM’s Dirigible Post Office!

Letter set includes:
(8) 8.5x5.5” letterheads
(4) “Greetings From Blackdom, NM” postcards
(4) kraft envelopes

NOTE: Though Blackdom's Dirigible Post Office is imaginary, Blackdom, NM is NOT an imaginary place!! Founded by Frank and Ella Boyer in 1903, Blackdom, NM is a valiant narrative within the canon of Black history. I take such pride in the prescient actions of this couple and the lot of hardy folk that comprised their futurist exercise in Black sovereignty.

Please support the work of Dr. Timothy Nelson, who has given his zeal to preserving this town and its descendants’ history.

Watch an interview with him here.

Purchase his book, Blackdom, New Mexico: The Significance of the Afro-Frontier!!

VGB’s BLACKLANDS collection— Honoring the agricultural legacy of the descendants of those who survived the Middle Passage and the brilliance this means to us by imagining a new Black future…
