BLACKLANDS: We are Monumental Notecards
The Black National Parks, founded by the Afro-Territory Land Council in 1865. We began naming monumentous landscapes with astonishing land formations after our peoples to connect the power of their lives with the zeal of our own. This is one of the many ways we celebrate our heritage.

George Washington Carver, Gullah/ Geechee, Harriet Tubman, Ida B Wells-Barnett, Dr. Joshua Simpson, Josiah Henson, Marcus Garvey, Nat Turner, Sojourner Truth, Three Queens,and Zora Neale Hurston.
